Getting ready for spring -- planning your own vegetable garden?

We have the best selection of (and best tasting) organic vegetable plant starts in Kingston!

Tomatoes: Delicious Heirlooms and new varieties:
Black Krim - The best tasting tomato, period.  Burgundy colour, large, heirloom. Cracks with too much rain.
Pink brandywine - Pink beefsteak, can weigh several pounds, delicious. Heirloom.
Nepal - Red, large, round slicing tomato. From Nepal. Late season (september) resists blight. Heirloom.
Azoychka - Yellow beefsteak, orange veining on bottom. Best tasting yellow we have tried. Heirloom Russia.
Orange Blossom - Yes an Orange tomato. Zippy flavour, great sliced in salads especially with other colours.
Viva Italia - New incredible plum/sauce tomato, rich red with a flavour to match. Heavy yields. Duck egg sized.
San Marzano - Best Italian heirloom, deep red, rich flavour, what italian tomato sauce is all about!
Sun Gold - Incredible flavour, small orange cherry tomato. very prolific.
Yellow Pear - Pear shaped yellow heirloom, cherry tomato.  Low acid. prolific.
Black Cherry - Burgundy coloured heirloom cherry.  Tastes like a beefsteak, yum.
Sweetie - Small red cherry, very sweet, same size as sun gold. very prolific. Heirloom.
Gardners' Delight - Large red cherry tomato.  Eat them whole or slice them for salads, or roasting.
Peppers:
King of the North - Big blocky, green to red sweet pepper.  Reliably ripens. Excellent quality pepper.
Ace - Extra early green to red sweet pepper. hybrid that produces!
Golden Habinaro - you want hot!!! here it is. hottest, and delicious.  Great for sauces. Golden colour.
Jalapeno Raam - pick them green with just a bit of black for jalapeno.  pick and roast for chpotle.
Ring of fire - long Cayenne, dry and grind for your own cayenne powder. adss heat and flavour to a dish.
Eggplants:
Fairytale - magical mini purple and white eggplants. Fry 'em in olive oil and eat them on sandwhiches. delish.
Traviata - Classic italian/american. Try it in lazagna or eggplant parmesan.
Herbs:
Basil - Genovese, the best for smell, flavour, fresh or cooking. annual.
Thyme - for chicken, fish, stews.  especially for french cooking. perennial.
Parsley  Italian flat leaf, or curly Forest green. Judgement is still out on which one chefs say is best. We say they are best for different dishes. biennial.
Summer Savoury - what mom's stuffing is made of. annual
Sage - Good with squash and potatoes, and extra wow in stuffing. perennial.
Chives - Extra early onion like, a taste of spring. perennial
